Local thermal wonderland
Visit the Tokaanu thermal area behind the Tokaanu Thermal Pools, just 5 minutes walk from the motel. Follow the path past steaming pools, sulphurous vents, and hot plopping mud pools. The walk is free and takes about 20 minutes on well-formed paths and boardwalks.
While walking, visit the Tokaanu Thermal Pools. As you cross the bridge over the Tokaanu stream look for the large rainbow trout that are lying there waiting to be fed.

Boat Charter
The lodge has it's own 6 metre surveyed Charter Boat for
pleasure cruising, Water Skiing, Ski biscuit or Lake
Fishing. Please book in advance of arrival for these
options.
River Rafting
In
summer, go white water rafting down the Tongariro River with Rock'n'River Rafting. Their rafting depot is just a short walk from Tokaanu Lodge Motel. Tailored to suit the family.
Walking and hiking
